Is it possible to tell a tall tale in as few as thirty words? That would require a limerick, a five-line rhyming cartoon in words. In this case fifty-three tiny capsule science fiction stories to make you smile.
A hot little androidal miss
Who jets off her steam with a hiss
Is made out of junk
And is very steam punk
So she's much too risky to kiss.
The book is divided into categories The Boys, The Girls, Medical Advances, Aliens, Space, The Law, Military Robots, Linguistics, Aliens, and Steam Power.
Also included the first episode in The Old SF anthology, and the first chapters from SF novels Passengers to Sentience and Passengers to Zeta Nine by the same author.

There a couple of cute works in this book, but the majority are "BAD" I don't mean bad like "Attack of the killer tomatoes" or bad like make you groan for the poor pun, I mean bad like not done, there will be a one or two pairs of lines that are the start of a good limerick, and then there are some extra words thrown in to create a rhyme that does not flow. It just stops and heads off in a different direction. In the end it leaves you thinking the author is more interested in publishing strings of words then in creating quality content.
As with many free e-books, the last half of this short work is tidbits from other published works by the author. Most of the limericks are so bad that if I had a "be sure to never buy anything from this author" list I would take the time to add everything he ever wrote to the list.

The First Completely Electronic Robot and Science Fiction Limerick Book eBook Peter Salisbury Reviews
Some of these are pretty good, but so many are equally cheesy. Working in the IT world, some of them were scary in how well I could relate!
This is a collection of humorous limericks by U.K. novelist, Peter Salisbury, usually known for his "serious" science fictions novels, like "Passengers to Sentience," and it's upcoming sequel. I read several of these limericks to my two children and they loved every one.
One of my (many) favorites is;
A cute little android called Shelly
Looked marvelously good on the telly
But being a punk
She caused quite a funk
Drinking oil that was terribly smelly.
It is a small book uniquely designed for the (or other eReader) that will have you rereading it again and again. It is also suitable for all ages (IMHO).
Worth every dime I spent on it (free) ... wasn't my cup of tea ... but then limerick's tend to be low humor anyway ...
Very clumsy efforts by someone who understands the meter but not the humor. It's like someone who knows how to draw musical notes but not what they sound like
This book has silly little rhymes in it. I found them amusing, but was disappointed that there was only one stanza per page. I would have enjoyed it more if each limerick had several verses to it.
Thank heavens it was free. It's horrible robot poetry written and spaced in 4 line limericks which don't really rhyme. or have rhythm. or more than one "thing"(i refuse to call it poetry) per page. not worth your money spent.. even at free.
Interesting use of the limerick for science fiction. I hope to use some examples with my 2nd grade computer students. They will also be building and programming some robots as part of a STEM unit at our school.
